Add on

The website project that will not sit on your desk.

You fill in a questionnaire. We write the copy. You change what you want and approve it. Then we build it, host it and keep it patched — so there is one supplier for the site, the hosting and the IT, and nothing waiting on you for six weeks.
The problem

Nobody actually owns it.

01

The site is down and everyone is pointing sideways

The web designer says it is hosting. The host says it is the site. Your IT provider says it is neither of theirs. Meanwhile it is still down.

02

The last attempt stalled because nobody wrote the copy

Six weeks in, the design was ready and the content was not. It is the single most common reason a brokerage is still running a website that is three years old.

03

The disclosure pages were written once and forgotten

The pages your licensee expects to see are on there somewhere, last touched by an agency that no longer has your business.

What's included

What we do.

  • The copy, written for you. From a questionnaire that takes you about an hour. We draft every page; you change what you want and approve it.
  • WordPress design and build. Built for a brokerage, rather than a template adapted from a cafe.
  • Hosted on AWS, in Australia, with SSL. Amazon Web Services rather than resold shared hosting. Your data stays onshore, which is one fewer question to answer on a due diligence form.
  • Backups, updates and uptime monitoring. Core, plugins and PHP kept current, and we know it is down before you do.
  • One supplier for all three layers. Site, hosting and the IT underneath it. One number to ring, and nobody working out whose fault it is first.
In practice

How a build actually runs.

  • ONE

    You fill in a questionnaire.

Your lines of business, who you write for, what makes you different from the brokerage down the road, and the disclosures your licensee expects. About an hour of your time, once.

  • TWO

    We write the copy.

Every page, drafted from your answers. Not a template with your name dropped into it, and not a copywriter who has to be taught what an authorised representative is first. This is the step that kills most website projects, and it is the one we take off you entirely.

  • THREE

You approve it, and change whatever you want.

It arrives nearly finished. Reading and correcting a draft is a fundamentally different job to staring at a blank page, and it is the difference between a site that launches and one that is still “nearly ready” next winter.

  • FOUR

We build, host and launch it.

Design, build, AWS hosting in Australia, SSL. Your existing site stays up until the day we cut over, so there is no window where you have nothing.

  • AND AFTERWARDS

Nobody works out whose fault it is first.

When something breaks, one team looks at it — the same people who run your email and your broking platform. That whose-problem-is-it conversation is why outages last hours instead of minutes, and it does not exist when one provider owns all three layers.

How it is charged

Quoted as a project.

Build is a project. Hosting is a monthly fee.
The build

A defined scope and an end date, so it is scoped and quoted like the project it is.

The hosting

Hosting, backups, updates and monitoring never stop, so they run as a monthly fee.

Both sit outside the IT plan and are quoted separately.

Common questions

What people ask about websites.

Do we have to be an IT client, or in insurance?
Neither. Website design, build and hosting is a service we offer to any business, and it is quoted separately from the IT plan either way. What insurance clients get on top is that we do not need the copy explained to us — we already know what an authorised representative is and what your licensee expects to see on the site.
How long does a build take?
Most sites are finished within two weeks. The reason it is weeks rather than months is that the step which normally stalls a website project — someone in your office finding time to write the copy — is not on your desk. You fill in a questionnaire, we draft every page, you correct it.
What happens to our existing site?
It stays up while the new one is built, then we cut over. If the current site is on hosting you are locked into, we work around the notice period rather than asking you to pay for two.
Who writes the content?
We do. You fill in a questionnaire about your lines of business, your clients and what your licensee expects to see, and we draft every page from it. You then change whatever you want and approve it. For an insurance business we can write it because we work in the industry every day — we already know what belongs on a broker site and what the disclosure pages need to cover, which is not true of a general web agency.
Where is it hosted?
On Amazon Web Services, in the Sydney region (ap‑southeast‑2). That matters for two reasons more than it does for speed. Your data stays onshore, and AWS is infrastructure your licensee’s own IT people will recognise. Most small web agencies resell shared hosting, which is cheaper and considerably harder to defend if anyone asks the question.
Do you do SEO?
We build the site so it is fast, structured properly and does not get in the way of search. Ongoing SEO campaigns are not something we do, and we would rather say so than sell you something we are not set up to deliver.
The rest of it

The other four services.

Not sure who owns your site? Let’s talk.

Thirty minutes to work out what you have got, who is actually maintaining it, and whether any of it is out of date.
